“Data Entry Jobs” Scam

Published by iliana at 6:38 pm under Scams, Tips and Tricks Edit This

Today I was thinking about how many scams sites there are online….I saw a site (don’t really want to say the name) that started almost 5 years ago, and it is still up and running, making money from people who try to find a job online and it is the biggest scam ever…Anyway, because I got scammed heavily, I certainly don’t want anybody else to lose their money unknowingly, so I decided to take a few minutes discuss about those scams, so you can be prepared…

Beware of So Called “Data Entry” Jobs

One of the most popular scams currently being promoted is not a scam as far as the actual technique is concerned, but from the angle of the language used to market the technique, namely “data entry”.

In real and practical terms, what a person is doing is one step of the affiliate marketing process whereby ads are written promoting someone else’s product in return for a commission for every sale referred.

However, the whole process is marketed as “getting rich by doing simple data entry”. There are literally scores of products of this nature currently being promoted. Recently, Google kicked out product owners or promoters of “data entry” related schemes.

It’s very important to note that the actual technique itself is certainly not a scam. It is very legitimate and it earns thousands of people, thousands of dollars per month. However, the reason it is a scam is due to the deceptive marketing surrounding it. People are not told what is really involved. Instead they are told, “Write a 3 line ad and you will make thousands”. It’s not as simple as that as there is more to it.

If the owners of such programs actually gave their customers an education and taught them proper marketing skills instead of just showing them this affiliate marketing technique they deceptively call “data entry”, there would have been something of value offered to the customer.

So if you see any website promoting or mentioning making money by “data entry”, then you should be cautious.

I’m mentioning this first because “data entry” programs are very heavily promoted using a variety of different phrases. Some examples, “type at home”, “home typers”, “data entry work” and so on.

OK, I’ll leave it here for today. I hope I wasn’t too late and you didn’t pay any money to any of these scams.
